Costa Del Somewhere is a conceptual piece exploring the potentiality of using chemical altering techniques on archive Super8 film. Laundry powder, window cleaning fluid and a mixture of hot water and bleach have altered a reel of film containing images of 1970’s coastal Spain.
Memory Wars is a conceptual piece that builds upon the use of chemical materials on Super8 film and explores the potential of synchronous positional L-R audio panning and volume. Memory Wars uses an underexposed reel of Super8 film and chemical materials to alter black Super8 negative.
Memory Wars was selected for the ANHARMONIC Film Festival 2020 and is best experienced while wearing headphones/earphones.

‘Christmas at George and Irma’s’ uses archive footage of a Christmas from 1969 to show the artists view of how memories merge over time and can provide an uplifting sense when said memories are recalled
Noctiluca (2020) was initially created for the On8Mil cameraless film competition. Noctiluca is undermined by marine biological research into Noctiluca Scintillans, also known as Sea Sparkle, and inspired by work from various ceramicists.
Clear 16mm film has been inked with various coloured sharpies and black 16mm film has been soaked in solutions of laundry detergent, window cleaner and bleach.
The reels of film were digitised by On8Mil and edited in After Effects and Premiere Pro CC. Audio capture is from manipulating guitars and mandolins and recording water movements in artist's bathroom.
